What should I do when renovating?

You must not paint over the smoke detector, mask it for protec-
tion or cover it. – Moreover, you must not subject the smoke
detector to any soiling due to work which gives off large quan-
tities of dust.
Before you commence renovation work, you must disassemble the
smoke detector:
1 For this purpose, turn the smoke detector casing anti-clockwise.
Then remove it from the assembly plate.

3 Mark the reverse side of the smoke detector so that you can reas-
semble it at the same place again following renovation.
After renovation, you must reassemble the smoke detector:
4 Place the device on the assembly plate and turn it clockwise until it
engages. Do not use too much force.
Check the functionality of the smoke detector by pressing the detector
head until you can hear the alarm signal: After assembly, the device
returns automatically to normal operation mode.
