 Insert battery.
 Firmly screw in the fastening bracket
behind the batteries.
Warning
Risk of damage due to inadvertent transpo-
sition of the battery terminals.
Pay attention to correct poles.

Note
The programme switch must be turned to
"OFF" before connecting the battery set. If
you do not follow this instruction, it can re-
sult in the following disturbances:
The overload display of the brush motor
–
displays an interruption.
Remedy: Turn the programme switch to
"OFF" for approx. 10 seconds.
The battery indicator shows full dis-
–
charge and the appliance cannot be
started.
Remedy: Charge the battery fully.
 Turn the program selection switch to
"OFF".
 Connect the plus pole of one of the bat-
teries to the minus pole of the other bat-
tery.
 Connect the connection cable to the
free battery poles (+) and (-).
 Replace battery cover.
 Tilt the tank downward and secure it
with screw.
Caution
Risk of damage due to full discharge!
Charge the batteries before commissioning
the appliance.

Charging battery

Note
The appliance is fitted with low charge pro-
tection, that is, the appliance is switched off
when a minimum capacity level is reached.
If this is the case, the battery monitor on the
operator console lights up red. Always re-
charge discharged (and partially dis-
charged) batteries.
Danger
Risk of electric shock.
Never use the charger when it is raining or
there is high humidity or in humid rooms!
Note
Average charging time is approx. 10 - 12
hours.
Charging procedure for BR/BD 40/25
 Plug the charger plug into the mains.
The charger is controlled electronically and
automatically terminates the charging pro-
cedure. All appliance functions are auto-
matically interrupted during charging.
When the plug is connected to the mains,
the battery control display shows charging
progress:
Refresh charge
Rapid charge
Maintenance
charge (battery is
fully charged)

 Remove battery plug and join it to the
charging cable.
Note
Connect the charger to the detachable bat-
tery plug at the machine and not to the plug
installed on the machine.
