so that any emitted gases can escape.
• If the battery contacts are difficult to access or the terminals of the charger
could come into contact with adjacent components, the battery will need to be
removed. Adhere to the manufacturer specifications on removal of the battery.
• Make sure that the charger is initially not connected to the mains socket.
• It is imperative to adhere to the following connection sequence:
- Option A – Charging the battery with the charging clamp cable while installed:
Connect the charging clamp cable to the charger using the quick connector
(if you have not already done so). Then, first connect the red charging clamp
(plus) to the positive terminal on the battery. After doing so, connect the black
clamp (minus) to the vehicle chassis or the engine block, but not in the vicinity
of the battery, the fuel supply line or the carburettor, and not to metal clips or
moving parts. The negative terminal of the charger is connected to the vehicle
chassis or to the engine block in accordance with the EN standard, i.e. a little
distance away from the battery. This prevents explosive gases which may be
in the direct vicinity of the battery, from igniting due to sparks on the battery
terminal.
- Option B – Charging the battery with the charging clamp cable while removed:
Connect the charging clamp cable to the charger using the quick connector
(if you have not already done so). Then, first connect the red charging clamp
(plus) to the positive terminal on the battery. Then, connect the black clamp
(minus) to the negative terminal on the battery.
- Option C – Charging with the ring terminal cable: First disconnect the
motorcycle earth connection from the battery. Then, screw the red ring
connector (plus) of the ring terminal cable on the battery's positive terminal.
Then, screw the black ring connector (minus) of the ring terminal cable on
the battery's negative terminal. Then, re-connect the motorcycle's earth
connection to the negative terminal on the battery. Then, connect the ring
terminal cable to the charger using the quick connector.
• Now connect the battery charger to the mains power. The "

or 12 V = 6 cells, the respective LED lights up) within 5 seconds. If the button is
not pressed, the charging process will start with the battery voltage that was last
selected. In order to change the selected battery voltage again, disconnect the
charger from the mains power and then connect the charger again to the mains
