pletely before initial commissioning; they contain
information for the correct use of this device.
1. Maintenance information
- To fi t or to change the batteries, simply open the
battery compartment of the unit as described
under item 5. The device itself has no user-
serviceable parts. In the event of fault send the
device to our Service Department.
- Avoid the effects of damp, dust and direct sun-
light.
- Clean the device using a dry linen cloth, which
may be slightly dampened to remove obstinate
stains. Do not use solvents for cleaning
2. General
With many spare time activities, a detailed knowl-
edge of the local weather situation is helpful or even
particularly important, e.g. on a model airfi eld, when
paragliding, sailing, surfi ng, kite fl ying etc. Due to its
compact construction and the innovative "packag-
ing" of the wind wheel, the new hand wind gauge
from ELV guarantees a high level of mobility. The
unit can be taken almost anywhere without damage,
as a protective cap provides reliable protection for
the propeller when transporting it. Furthermore, the
protective cap can be used as a stand for the unit
in operation, so that this can be set up conveniently
and safely.
The large LCD display clearly shows all relevant
information and the operation is extremely simple
in spite of the many measuring functions. The unit is
operated by two 1.5 V micro batteries (AAA). The
