5. Logical sequence

shown.
How to use LogiPic:
It is recommended that the children begin with an easy card (Level 1 – one star). First they select a card and insert it in the wooden frame, with the chosen
motif facing upwards. Then they gradually fill in the motif with the coloured balls. The design on the template enables them to monitor their own efforts.
Then other motifs can be chosen for re-creation with the coloured balls.
Practical tips for kindergarten teachers:
Creativity:
Let the children select the cards they would like to work with. Whether re-creating a motif or using their own free design – in either case visualisa-
tion, imagination and inventiveness will be stimulated.
Learning colours:
By sorting according to colour, the children acquire a good basis for naming and distinguishing the individual colours.
Speech development:
Discuss with the children the various motifs on the cards, and the way they are presented. Get them to name the motifs and scenes, and encourage
them to invent little stories to go with them.
Numeracy:
With the balls and the different colours, the children can make first attempts at counting. How many balls of each colour are there? You can follow
this up with first approaches to calculation.
6. Blank card
The children can use their creativity by drawing a
motif they would like to work with. The blank card
can also be used as a neutral background for
free play.
Tip: Use the blank card as a template for making
more cards of the same shape. The children can
then use their imagination freely and try out
whether pictures can be created with the
available number of coloured balls.
