Be sure to read this section when using a scale unit (SL130). When using a different
scale, be sure to read the instruction manual supplied with the scale.

When using the scale in locations exposed to dust, dirt, scraps, cutting oil, etc., lightly
wipe the scale surface occasionally with a cloth, etc.
However, do not use alcohol, detergents or the like to clean the scale surface.

Installation
1. Leave the scale for about one hour near the
machine on which it is to be installed to acclimatize
it to the machine temperature.
2. Wipe away any oil or dirt on the scale mounting
surface and the rear surface of the scale base using
a clean cloth moistened with alcohol. Then affix the
supplied double-sided adhesive tape to the scale
mounting surface and attach the scale base to the
machine.
After installing the scale base, be sure to attach the
stainless steel ribbon (supplied) in order to protect the
scale surface. (See the figure above.)
3. After installing the scale base, lightly wipe the scale
surface (rubber magnet) using a clean cloth
moistened with alcohol to remove any dirt or oil, etc.
4. Then affix the supplied double-sided adhesive tape
to the scale surface and attach the protective ribbon
carefully from one end while peeling away the
backing paper, making sure that the protective
ribbon does not protrude from the scale surface.
* Take care not to fold or bend the protective ribbon.
