I
f you have programmed a height alarm, an alarm will go off
on reaching the height. This can be stopped by pressing
"SNOOZE/LIGHT" (C).
If you go below the height for the height alarm again, the
feature will be activated again when the programmed
height is reached; the alarm is triggered.
Depending on the air pressure or change in the air pressure,
a change in the units will be carried out automatically for
the display of the bar graphs at the bottom of the display
(for altimeter and barometer).
At the right, alongside the bar graphs, the unit used will be
displayed per "box" (e.g. "10M = ")
b) Memory for altimeter and barometer
T
he multi-compass has over 48 storage spaces for the
measurements of the altimeter or barometer. When all the
memory has been filled, the oldest measurement value will
be overwritten by a new value automatically.
Not only the pertinent measurement value will be stored but
also the associated time and the date.
To display the measurement values, proceed as fol-
lows:
• First of all, the altimeter or barometer feature has to be
activated using the button "MODE" (D) .
• Using the buttons "+" (I) and "-" (N) on the rear of the
multi-compass, the measurement values can be dis-
played (fade-in "MEM" appears).
62
• N
ever dismantle the battery.
• If not used for a longer periods (e.g. in case of storage),
remove the inserted batteries to avoid damage
leaking.

5. Inserting, replacing batteries

On the rear of the apparatus, there is a round battery com-
partment cover. Insert a thin coin into the slit of the covering
and turn it approx. 5 mm in the anticlockwise direction
(observe arrow, it must be in the position "OPEN"). The cov-
ering can then be removed.
Insert the two batteries of the type "CR2430". The side with
the "+" points in the direction of the battery compartment
cover (writing on the button cell is legible). Alongside the
battery compartment, you will find the corresponding illus-
tration.
Replace the battery compartment cover correctly and lock it
by turning it in the clockwise direction.
(arrow on the battery compartment cover must be in the
position "LOCK").
I
f the display contrast is reduced, if the illumina-
tion is activated, the LC display disappears or if
no functionality can be established at all, the two
batteries have to be replaced by new ones.
Dispose of the spent batteries in an environment-
friendly manner, see section "disposal".
