correspond to the directive for electromagnetic com-
patibility 89/336/EEC. The camera also corresponds
to the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
Attention! The camera is supplied with hazardous
mains voltage (230 V~). Leave servicing
to skilled personnel only. Inexpert hand-
ling may cause an electric shock hazard.
Furthermore, any guarantee claim will ex-
pire if one of the units has been opened.
Please observe the following items in any case:
The camera with pan/tilt head is suitable for outdoor
use (admissible ambient temperature range -10 °C
to +55 °C), but the remote control is suitable for
indoor use only. Protect the remote control against
high air humidity, dripping water, and splash water.
Do not operate the camera or immediately dis-
connect the plug from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the camera, to the
pan/tilt head, or to the mains cable,

Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in the mains lead of the power supply unit
are coloured in accordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and yel-
low.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
In combination with a 2.4 GHz receiver of the
MONACOR "AV-...R" series and a monitor, the wire-
less colour camera with zoom lens serves for wireless
video surveillance. The camera is mounted on a pan/
tilt head to be controlled via the supplied wireless
remote control.
For remote control, the MONACOR stationary con-
trol unit AV-3800RM is also available. It consists of a
control console, a separate transmitter for outdoor
use, a 25 m connection cable, and a power supply unit.
The transmission range of the wireless system
largely depends on the local conditions. Without any
obstacles between the camera and the receiver, the
maximum range may be 500 m. In buildings, however,
it is reduced to approx. 50 m by walls and ceilings,
depending on their condition. In case of poor recep-
tion of the video signal, it is recommended to use an
external antenna with gain for the 2.4 GHz receiver.
