16. Changing the Control Lever Allocation

If you want to control your flight model according to the chart shown in figures 12 to 15 (mode II), you can skip this
section. If you prefer the throttle function on the right control lever and the elevator function on the left one (mode I),
you may convert the transmitter accordingly.
For any arising work to convert the latching or return mechanics, basic knowledge when handling remote
control transmitters is required. Therefore you should consult an experienced model maker or a model
construction club if you do not feel capable of undertaking the procedures described in the following.
• Remove the transmitter batteries.
• Unscrew the six screws by means of a Phillips-tip screwdriver from the rear panel of the transmitter and lift the rear
panel carefully.
• Remove the latching spring (1) and latching spring sup-
port (2) at the right lever unit when viewed from behind.
The two parts will later be installed again mirror-inverted
to the left lever unit when viewed from behind.
• Now remove the tension spring (3) at the setting lever (5)
at the left lever unit viewed from behind with a small hook
(bent tip of a pin).
After you have disconnected the spring at the return le-
ver (4) as well, you can remove the spring and the return
lever.
• Then pull the setting lever (5) including the adjustment
screw out of the bearing upwards.
• The three parts will later be installed again mirror-inverted
in the reverse order to the right lever unit when viewed
from behind.
• Finally, screw the latching spring (1) and latching spring
support (2) to the left lever unit when viewed from behind.
• Insert the transmitter aerial into the upper housing half
again and attach the rear of the transmitter form-lockingly.
• Then screw on the rear wall again. The two shorter
screws must be turned into the handle unit.
• Finally, test the mechanical function of the converter lever
units.
