GLOW PLUG
The glow plug looks like the ignition system in your car. The coil in the middle of the cand-
le is glow red when supplied with a 1.2 - 1.5 V battery, as they contain a glow ignitor is
operated. This is what ignites the fuel/air mixture when compressed in the cylinder. After
the engine fi res, the heat generated by the burning fuel keeps the element hot. Common
reasons for the engine not starting is the 1.5 volt battery being weak or dead, or fuel fl ooded
the motor and the glow plug, or the element burned out. Use a spare glow plug to check the
igniter. If the igniter makes the element glow, remove the plug from the engine to check it in
the same way. A wet glow plug means there is excess fuel in the engine. To remove, put a rag over the head
and turn the engine over a few seconds with your pull starter. Reinstall the glow plug making sure you have
the brass gasket on it. The engine should now start.

OPERATING TEMPERATURE

The ideal engine temperature changes with the air temperature, it should fall within the range 100 ° C - 120
° C. A simple test method is to use a few drops of water on the cylinder head / cooling fi ns. The water should
have evaporated after 3-5 seconds. If it evaporates faster, the engine is too hot, and you have to enrich the
mixture for at least two hours „counter-clockwise" with the high-speed needle. If you are not sure about the
optimum temperature, you should purchase a digital thermometer No. 1964.

TWO-SPEED ADJUSTMENT
The MT8 Nitro comes with an automatic 2-speed gearbox. Adjust the hexagonal screw in the 2-speed clutch
to control when the 2nd gear will engage.
• To delay the 2nd speed, tighten by 1/8 – ¼ turns clockwise
• To advance the 2nd speed, loose by 1/8 – ¼ turns anticlockwise.
