3 - DETAILED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
BECAUSE WOOD IS A NATURAL MATERIAL, THE SAMPLES ARE PURELY INDICATIVE
WITH RESPECT TO HUE AND TEXTURE.
A] MATERIAL INSPECTION
The material must be inspected upon delivery. The buyer's use or transfer of the material
constitutes acceptance of the same and recognition that it corresponds to what was
agreed, with the consequent waiver of any claims. Any reports of material faults and/or
defects (including those relating to moisture content, colour, and hue) must be sent via
registered letter with return receipt within 8 days following delivery of the merchandise
and nevertheless before starting the installation. For any material faults or defects that
14
emerge during installation, the buyer must immediately suspend installation and report
said faults, at the risk of voiding any applicable rights. The supplier's obligations do not
extend further than replacing the material deemed to be defective. Any complaints or
claims do not give the buyer the right to suspend or delay payments.
B] INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Store the packages in a dry, clean, protected environment. Open the packages
immediately before installation, ensuring that the temperature in the rooms is at least 15°C
and that the relative humidity is between 45% and 65%.
The underlying floor must be:
- protected from moisture infiltration and condensation.
- dry, with a residual moisture content no higher than 2.0% for cement or quick-drying
screed, 1.7% for heated screed, 0.5% for anhydrite screed (determined using a CM
device according to UNI 10392).
- solid, compact, rigid, flat, clean, and free of surface dust.
- free of adhesive residue.
For installation over pre-existing ceramic or marble surfaces, the surface must be
prepared accordingly, ensuring that it has the necessary roughness for the adhesive to
adhere. For heated flooring, pay attention to the heating fluid temperature. This should
be around 30°C so that the temperature of the flooring surface does not exceed 25°C.
Rigorously respect the special installation procedures for these types of systems. Place
a doormat at the entrance to the room and keep it clean to avoid introducing dust and
abrasive particles in the installation area. Pay attention to any pets. Do not wet and avoid
dispersing water.
C] PARQUET INSTALLATION
THE INSTALLATION CRITERIA AND ASSESSMENT OF WOOD FLOORING MUST
COMPLY WITH THE UNI 11368-1-2 STANDARD 'WOOD FLOORING – INSTALLATION –
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND METHODS – PART 1: INSTALLATION USING ADHESIVE
– PART 2: FLOATING INSTALLATION' .
If the parquet is glued, use only water-free adhesives or specific adhesives for prefinished
wood flooring. Carefully check the compactness and level of the screed, as well as the
moisture content of the subfloor and humidity in the environment. During installation, use
wood elements from multiple packages.
When installing floating flooring, the adhesive is not applied directly to the screed, but
to the female part, avoiding contact with the subfloor. Insert at least 6 tongues equally
distributed along the side of the panel, taking care to start from the points closest to the
corners. For glued installation, apply the adhesive directly to the subfloor, using a suitable
notched adhesive spreader. Do not glue the sides. Any adhesive escaping from the joints
of the prefinished planks must be removed immediately using a suitable professional
adhesive remover.
When installing the flooring, do not apply any sort of adhesive tape directly to the flooring
to avoid damaging the finish. Leave a suitable space for leaks around the edge (which will
then be covered by the skirting), sized as a function of the room floor area to allow the
wood to expand naturally after installation. Any slight sounds of emptiness at certain points
of the flooring are not a sign that the wood elements are not attached to the subfloor. For
