Plug the headphones into the headphones jack before putting
them on and, if the volume on the headphones is too high, reduce
this with the aid of the appropriate channel GAIN control. Please
observe that, in doing this, you also reduce the input signal!
(8) Attachment holes
For desk mounting, you can attach the mixer to these 4 attachment holes.
(9) PUNCH buttons
The PUNCH buttons interact with the CROSS-FADER and ASSIGN feature.
The PUNCH button (9) thereby bridges over the CROSS-FADER. That means, the
signal which is returned over the CROSS-FADER is reproduced at full volume as long
as the corresponding PUNCH button is pressed. After releasing the PUNCH button,
the CROSS-FADER (11) will determine the volume again.
(10) Switch ASSIGN
With these two rotary switches, the channels are set so that they should be pending
at the cross-fader (11).
Using the left switch, select the channel which is to be played when the cross-fader
(11) is located in the left position. Using the right switch, select the channel which is
to be played when the cross-fader (11) is located in the right position.
If the same channel is selected on both ASSIGN switches, the signal
can only be heard in the central position of the CROSS-FADER.
(11) CROSS-FADER
With the aid of this slide control, cross-fading/mixing takes place through the ASIGN
switch (10).
The one channel is faded out on operating the slide control (becomes quieter), at the
same time, the other channel is faded in (becomes louder). In the central position of
the CROSS-FADER slide control, both channels are reproduced equally.
(12) CUE Key
Using these switches, the channels CH1, CH2 and CH3 can be selected for "pre-lis-
tening". The channel for which the switch is positioned at "CUE" can be heard on the
headphones output. You can programme several channels at the same time on "pre-
listening".
Switch position "CUE" = channel can be pre-heard on the headphones.
Switch position "OFF" = channel cannot be pre-heard on the headphones.

Set input level.
• Using the input level controls "GAIN" (18), adapt the mixer input to the output sig-
nal of the connected reproduction device concerned.
• Start the connected reproduction device, e.g. CD player.
• Set the control "GAIN" (18) to the left-hand stop position "0".
• Turn the MONITOR control (6) to the position CUE.
• Set the "CUE switch (12) of the channel CH2 to the position CUE. The input signal
is now indicated on the recording level display.
• Increase the input sensitivity of the mixer slowly by turning the control "GAIN" in
the clockwise direction until the desired level has been reached.
• Observe in doing so the recording level display (21). The indicator should, as far as
possible, not exceed the "0dB" value as otherwise distortion of the music signal
can occur.
• Repeat the setting for all channels.
• All channels should have about the same volume so that, in the case of cross-fad-
ing between the channels, no great differences in the volume arise meaning that
you have to regulate the output signal.
Set MASTER output level
• Using the output level control "MASTER" (5), adapt the mixer output to the input of
the connected amplifier.
• Set the control "MASTER" (5) to the left-hand stop position "0".
• Turn the MONITOR control (6) to the position PGM
• Switch all CUE switches to the position "OFF".
• The output signal is now indicated on the recording level display.
• Start the connected reproduction device, e.g. CD player. Move the appropriate
channel fader right to the top.
• Increase the output level of the mixer slowly by turning the control "MASTER" (5) in
the clockwise direction until the desired level has been reached.
• Observe the recording level display (21) in doing so. The indicator should, as far as
possible, not exceed the "0dB" value as otherwise distortion of the music signal
can occur.
• Turn the volume control (2) of the connected amplifier to a suitable volume.
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are
not overloaded. The reproduction may not be distorted under any
circumstances.
If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume on
the amplifier has not been set too high and the mixer has been set
correctly, switch off the mixer immediately and check the connec-
tion. If there is no error in the connection, please contact a spe-
cialist.
