bracket (10) and – on the tunnel side – the belt
catch holder (4) with the mounted belt catch onto the
adapters (1).
Vehicle with seat position sensor
• At the front on the door side, place the sensor
holder (6) with the sensor (18) and – on the tunnel
side – the spacer plate (5) onto the adapters (1).
• Make sure that the sensor cable is laid properly.
Vehicle without seat position sensor
• At the front on the door side, place the spacer plate (5)
onto the adapter (1).
Attention

plate (5) on the door side. Use either the sensor
holder or the spacer plate (see above)!
• Place the seat rails with the release bracket on the
adapters (Figure I).
• Securely screw all parts to the adapters using the sup-
plied M8x16 screws with the low head (9).

Mounting consoles in the vehicle
(Figure J)
• Place the console (12) on the vehicle floor on the door
side and the console (13) on the vehicle floor on the
tunnel side.
• Screw the console (12) on the door side tightly using
the original screws (14).
• On the tunnel side, securely screw the console (13)
into place using the M10x30 screws (19) supplied with
the console.

the standard seat.

Mounting the RECARO seat in the
vehicle (Figure K)
If your RECARO seat has electrical adjustment facilities
or seat heating, a polythene bag containing the mounting
instructions and the parts needed for electrical installa-
tion is supplied with the seat.
Supplementary adapters
In the case of the RECARO seats, the lowest seat posi-
tion in the RECARO seat corresponds to the lowest seat
position in the standard seat. If you desire a higher sit-
ting position, you can mount one of the optionally avail-
able supplementary adapters (24) between console and
seat rail:
• Order No. 7222154, 20 mm high,
for Types I, II and III
• Order No. 7222155, 40 mm high,
for Type I and Type II without height adjustment
When installing a supplementary adapter:
• To mount the seat, use the M8x35 or M8x55 screws
supplied with the supplementary adapter instead of the
M8x16 (17) or M8x12 (22) screws, .
• Press the plastic stoppers (25) into the front face of
the supplementary adapters (24) until flush.
• Lift the seat into the vehicle.
• Move the seat into the rearmost position. The exist-
ing belt catch, position sensor etc. are taken from the
original seat. The adjustment travel of the seat length
adjuster must be taken into account and checked
when defining the movable length of the connecting
cables. All connections must be restored.
• Secure the seat at the front with the 2 screws M8x16
with a high head (17) and the small washers (20) onto
the consoles on the vehicle floor.
• Move the seat into the frontmost position.
• At the rear on the door side, secure the seat with
2 screws M8x16 with a high head (17) onto the
console on the vehicle floor. To do this, use the
small washer (20) on the front screw and the large
washer (21) on the rear screw.
• At the rear on the tunnel side, secure the seat on the
front screw connection with the M8x12 screw (22) and
the small washer (20) and on the rear screw connec-
tion with the M8x16 screw with a high head (17) and
the large washer (21) to the console on the floor of the
vehicle.
10. Mounting the belt strap
• On the door side, push the eye of the belt strap up
from below over the bolt of the belt bracket (10) (see
Figure 1 for the belt bracket).
11. After completing mounting
• Test whether the seat can be repositioned easily and
securely. The seat rail must snap correctly into position
after the release lever is moved and released.
• Make sure that no cable can be trapped or damaged
when moving the seat rails forwards or backwards
• Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery after
installing the RECARO seat.
• Insert the fuse for the electrical connection of the
RECARO seat.
WARNING!

Risk of injury from unintentional triggering of the
side airbag
• Make sure that the side airbag of the standard seat is
disabled. See the instructions for the disabling kit.
• Keep the removed standard seat in a place inacces-
sible to children.
• The electrical connections on the standard seat with
a side airbag must not be connected to electrical volt-
age sources as long as the seat is not installed in a
vehicle.
