3.4 Tips for preparation
•
As a rule, any food that can be prepared in a pan can also be cooked on the grill
plates.
•
For cooking meat on the grill plates, use the highest temperature setting.
•
For cooking vegetables on the grill plates, the medium temperature setting is
usually best.
•
Small and thin foods require a shorter cooking time than larger ones.
•
Cut meat into slices about 1 cm thick and grill on both sides until browned to taste.
•
Cook delicate sh (e.g. cod) in a pan, as it is di cult to turn on the grill plates.
•
Pre-bake pizza dough brie y in a pan before adding toppings.
•
Use cheese that melts well. Raclette cheese is ideal. Gouda (young or medium-
aged), butter cheese or cheddar can also be used as milder alternatives. Mozzarella,
Camembert, mountain cheese, Tilsit or Edam are also suitable. For a stronger taste,
try Gorgonzola or sheep's/goat's cheese.
•
Always pre-cook potatoes, otherwise they will not cook through. Slice and roast
them on the grill plates, or bake them with cheese in a pan.
•
Asparagus, zucchini and mushrooms are best cooked on the grill plates, but can
also be prepared in a pan.
