Drive Mechanism
8.6 Soft Brake Slide (30400), Main Brakes (30100 and
30200), Idler (20200) and Soft Brake (30600)
– Unhook the spring (30500), move the slide of the soft brake (30400)
in the direction of the arrow to remove it (Fig. 8.16).
– Dismantle the cassette mechanism (see point 8.1).
– Unhook the spring of the main brakes (30300), disengage the clamp
G and remove the brakes (30100 and 30200, Fig. 8.17).
– Disengage the clamp H and remove the idler (20200, Fig. 8.17).
– Unhook the spring (30700), disengage the clamp I and remove the
soft brake (30600, Fig. 8.19).
Notes on lubricating the mechanical parts of the soft brake slide
(30400) and the main brakes (30100 and 30200)
– Always use the types of grease with part numbers 75988 061 7700
and 75988 061 7800 for lubricating the soft brake slide and follow the
lubrication instructions given in Fig. 8.17 – Fig. 8.19!

– Dismantle the cassette mechanism (see point 8.1).
– Dismantle the soft brake (30600, see point 8.6).
– Remove the right take-up reel (20100, Fig. 8.19).
– Left take-up reel (20100)
– Position the mechanism to Play mode (see point 5).
– Undo the screw (20120) and remove the securing angle of the
brake band (20130) (Fig. 8.15).
– Undo the hook F and remove the brake band (40200) at this end
(Fig. 8.15).
– Remove the left take-up reel (20100) (Fig. 8.20).
Attention: The bushings shown in Fig. 8.19 and 8.20 can only be
replaced if they are of plastic material.
Notes on lubricating the take-up reel axles
– For lubricating the axles and the bushing use exclusively the
lubricant 75988 061 7800 and observe the lubricating notes in
Fig. 8.19 and Fig. 8.20 (shaded surfaces)!
