4. Place the external grille on the plaster frame
(drainage openings at the bottom) and fasten
with the 4 screws.
5. Fit the 4 screw covers. Insert them into the re-
cesses at the bottom and swivel them up-
wards until they audibly click into place.
To remove the screw cover, push the upper
slat gently upwards.
6. Check and ensure that the external grille is
firmly seated.
7. Recommendation: Seal the external grille to
the exterior wall.
Use silicone-free sealing material for san-
ded external grille. Sanded external grille can
be painted over with any façade paint.
6.3 Fitting the RV 2 AL / ALB external
covers

Observe safety instructions!
CAUTION Risk of injury when handling
housing parts with sharp components, e.g.
stainless steel external covers. Wear protecti-
ve gloves.
1. Once the external plastering is complete, re-
move the plaster protective cover. The 90° de-
flection unit of the RV 2 mounting sleeve must
be plastered flush.
2. Clean the condensate drain of the RV 2 moun-
ting sleeve. The condensate must be able to
drain freely.
3. Insert the external grille into the 90° deflection
unit and screw tight with the two fixing screws
provided. ATTENTION: Ensure condensate
drainage. Condensate must not penetrate bet-
ween the mounting sleeve and the exterior
wall.
4. Check and ensure that the external grille is
firmly seated.
5. Recommendation: Additionally seal the ex-
ternal grille.
Use silicone-free sealing material for san-
ded external grille. Sanded external grille can
be painted over with any façade paint.
7 Cleaning and care
CAUTION Risk of injury from insects
(wasps, bees etc.) in the external cover or
mounting sleeve.
Watch out for small animals when removing the
slide-in module. Recommendation: Use units in
continuous operation.
• Clean the external grille if necessary, especially
after a long period of inactivity of the ventilation
unit.
• To clean, remove the slide-in module, see the
installation instructions for the RV 2 final instal-
lation kit.
• If necessary, clean the external grille of the sof-
fit variants with the window open. Observe safe-
ty and accident prevention regulations.
