Before getting started

• Read the chapter "Safety", in
particular the safety instructions
(see page EN-4).
• Set up the appliance as de-
scribed in the chapter "First
use" (see page EN-16).
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Improper use of the appli-
ance may lead to serious
injury or death.
■ Do not vacuum glowing
ash, burning cigarettes or
matches, sharp objects,
glass fragments, water
or other liquids. Glowing
ash, burning cigarettes,
etc. set the filter on fire;
moisture can cause short
circuits; sharp
damage the filter and can
cause short circuits.
Health hazard!
Improper handling of the ap-
pliance may result in health
hazards.
■ Do not use the appliance
if the hygiene or motor
protection filter is missing
or damaged. Otherwise,
vacuumed dust can pen-
etrate the appliance and
escape into the ambient
air.
Risk of damage to property!
Vacuuming unsuitable ma-
terials blocks the filter and
can damage the appliance.
■ Never vacuum clay, plas-
objects
ter, cement, masonry dust
or drilling dust.
