Tips

To enjoy an aromatic espresso or coffee, please note the following tips:
Always preheat the cups on the hotplate (1).
Rinse out the cups with hot water immediately before using them.
Always fill the water tank (4) with fresh water. Do not use any water that has been in the
water tank for longer than 12 hours.
If possible, always use freshly ground espresso powder to achieve an optimum flavour.
Clean the milk jug (16) and the milk tube (18) as well as the milk system (14) after each use.
Regularly clean and descale the device (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter – "Descaling").
A dirty and / or furred-up device compromises the flavour.

Preparation

PLEASE NOTE!
Never use the device without a suitable cup below the portafilter.
For beverage variants for two beverages (e.g. double cappuccino), the cups should
be placed under the coffee spout one after the other.
The completion of the first beverage is indicated by the progress bar on the touch
display: Once this is full, the grinding process for the second beverage starts. Remo-
ve the first cup and place the second cup under the spout.
If the device is in standby mode, switch it on by touching the touch display (19) (see chapter
‚Operation and functions' - ‚Switching the device on / off'). The touch display switches on
and the device carries out the heating process and any cleaning processes in sequence. The
respective step is shown on the touch display. Do not operate the device during this time.
Once all processes are complete, the main menu is displayed. The device is ready for operation.
