Use the small sieve insert for individual pads (6).With E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) pads,
make sure that you place them in the middle of the sieve insert.
2. Use the pressing aid (5) to press down the espresso / coffee powder in the sieve insert.
3. Remove excess espresso / coffee powder from the rim of the portalter or make sure that
the edge of the coffee pad does not protrude.
Filling the Sieve Insert for Capsules
Note that the sieve insert for capsules (10) must be lled before it is inserted in the porta-
lter (9).
1. Reach into the recess on the sieve insert for capsules and ip open the bottom part.
2. Insert the coffee capsule into the sieve insert.
3. Flip the bottom part of the sieve insert down again.
4. Insert the sieve insert into the corresponding portalter (see "Inserting / Removing the Sieve
Insert").
Inserting the Portalter into the Device
1. Hold the lled portalter (8, 9) rmly by the handle and insert it into the device under the
symbol.
2. Turn the portalter to the right (
Removing the Portalter from the Device
1. Hold the portalter (8, 9) by the handle and turn it to the left until it is under the
(Picture F).
2. Pull the portalter down out of the device.
Emptying the Sieve Insert for Powder and Pads
1. Flip up the small lever on the handle of the portalter (8). It stops the sieve insert (6, 7) being
able to fall out when it is emptied (Picture G).
2. Tap out the portalter over a dustbin.
3. Flip the small lever down again and remove the sieve insert from the portalter (see the
"Inserting / Removing the Sieve Insert" section).
4. Clean the sieve insert (see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter).
