Initial operation

Caution!
The appliance starts operating as soon as the power cord is connected to the power outlet.
Danger!
Observe the Installation site requirements described in chapter 5.1.
Caution!
Do not leave children unattended in the vicinity of the hot appliance.
Risk of burns or injuries!
High temperatures are generated during operation of the Raclette.
5.1

Installation site requirements

- Place the Raclette on stable, flat and heat-resistant surfaces only. Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- Do not place the Raclette near or on hot surfaces (heaters, hot plates, or other heat sources). Make sure there
is enough space next to and above the appliance.
- Keep a safe distance from flammable materials such as napkins, tablecloths, etc.
- Ensure that the power cord and/or any extension cord does not have any contact to hot surfaces at the
appliance or other hot surfaces such as hot plates or hot liquids. Make sure it does not pass over sharp edges
and is not kinked or bent.
- Also ensure that the power cord and/or any extension cord used does not hang down and no one can trip
over it or accidentally get caught in it or pull the appliance down.
5.2 Before the first use
- Read the operating and safety instructions carefully before using the appliance.
- Remove all packing material and make sure that all parts as in chapter 7 Scope of delivery are present and in
proper condition.
- Wipe the housing with a soft, slightly moistened cloth. Dry it off thoroughly.
- Clean the aluminium grill plate, the scrapers and the pans with warm water and a mild detergent. Do not clean
the grill plate and the pans in the dishwasher. Dry off all parts completely.
- Clean the stone plate with water, a solid sponge and a mild detergent only. Do not leave the stone plate in
water. Do not clean it in the dishwasher. Notice the Care instructions for the stone plate according to chapter
5.2.1.
- Place the aluminium grill plate precisely on the support. Place the stone plate with the juice groove facing
upwards on the support. Make sure that each of them is placed safely.
- Heat the empty appliance for approx. 10 to 20 minutes. The slight smoke and odour that will probably be
produced are completely harmless. This is a matter of protective oils that were applied during production.
Ensure good ventilation of the room during this period!
