5.2.1
Care instructions for the stone plate
The stone is a natural material. Therefore, deviations in colour as well as structure may occur. These underline
the natural character and do not represent a defect and are therefore no reason for complaint.
Due to natural conditions, the stone can have internal stresses, which can lead to cracks or breakage if the
temperature changes too much. To avoid this and to increase the stability of the stone, we recommend that
you carry out the following pre-treatment before using the stone plate for the first time:
- Clean the stone plate with warm water and a sponge and dry it completely.
- Place the stone plate on the rack in the cold oven and set the oven to 220 °C.
- After 40 minutes, turn off the oven and let the stone cool completely in the oven.
- The stone plate is now ready for use.
During further use, take care to avoid excessive temperature fluctuations:
- Always allow the stone to heat up first, together with the appliance or in the oven.
- Never place the cold stone on the preheated unit.
- Do not place frozen food on the hot stone. Always allow the food to defrost first.
- Always allow the hot stone to cool on the unit before cleaning it.
However, minor cracks or discolouration may occur during pretreatment as well as during subsequent use.
These do not affect the function and are no reason for complaint.

Use

- Place the Raclette on a stable, flat and heat-resistant surface. If necessary, use a washable, sufficiently heat-
resistant mat to protect sensitive surfaces from possible spatters.
- Ensure that the appliance stands plane on all 4 feet and the heating element is located on top. Make sure that
the plates are placed properly. Plug the cord into a suitable socket according to chapter 13 Technical
specifications.
- Turn the temperature control to the highest level to heat the plates as quickly as possible. The control lamp
lights up as long as the appliance heats up. As soon as the set temperature is reached, the control lamp goes
out. After 10 minutes the aluminium grill plate, after 20 minutes the stone plate, are ready to use. Alternatively,
you can preheat the stone plate in the oven (220 °C, approx. 10 minutes).
- Brush the plates, if needed also the pans, with a little oil, especially when cooking non-marinated food.
- As soon as the plates have reached the desired temperature, you can place the prepared food on it.
Note for the aluminium grill plate: To protect the non-stick coating of the grill plate, use wooden or heat-resistant
plastic utensils to turn and remove the food. Do not cut on the grill plate. Do not leave any utensils on the hot
grill plate that can melt or deform.
- Put the desired ingredients into the pans and place these on the Raclette shelf below the heating element.
- You can adjust the temperature with the temperature control – to start with, it should be somewhat higher and
then it can be reduced.
- When the ingredients are done, remove the pans. To avoid scratching the coating, push the ingredients down
with the heat-resistant plastic scrapers provided.
