Battery types and capacities
The unit is suitable for use with ENERGY+ batteries 58G001, 58G001-
1, 58G004. 58G004-1, 58G086, 58G086-1, 58GE152.

Removing / inserting the battery
To remove, press the button on the battery and slide it out of the socket.
To insert the battery, align the battery contacts with the grooves in the
socket and insert until the clamping button audibly engages.
Charging the battery
Battery charging should be carried out in conditions where the ambient
temperature is between 4 - 40°C. A new battery or one that has not been
used for a long period of time will reach full power capability after
approximately 3 - 5 charge and discharge cycles.
Remove the battery from the device.
• Plug the charger into a 230 V AC mains socket. When switched on,
a green LED will light up on the charger to indicate that the voltage
is connected.
• When the battery is placed in the charger, a red LED will light up to
indicate that the battery is being charged.
• Once the battery is charged, the LED on the charger will light up
green.
• The charger will not automatically switch off when the battery is fully
charged. The green LED on the charger will continue to illuminate
until the charger is disconnected from the power supply.
The battery should not be charged for more than 8 hours. Exceeding this
time may damage the battery cells. The charger will not switch off
automatically when the battery is fully charged. Disconnect the power
supply before removing the battery from the charger socket. Avoid
consecutive short charges. Do not recharge the batteries after using the
device for a short time. A significant decrease in the time between
necessary charges indicates that the battery is worn out and should be
replaced.
During the charging process, the batteries will heat up. Do not undertake
work immediately after charging - wait until the battery has reached room
temperature. This will prevent damage to the battery.
Battery charge status indication
The battery is equipped with a charge status indication (3 LEDs). To check
the charge status of the battery, press the battery charge status indicator
button. When all LEDs are lit, the battery charge level is high. The lighting
of 2 LEDs indicates partial discharge. The fact that only 1 diode is lit
indicates that the battery is exhausted and needs to be recharged.
Switching on/off
Once the battery has been correctly inserted into the socket, the locking
switch must be pushed forward and the switch pressed to switch the unit
on. The unit is switched off when pressure on the switch is released. When
the unit is switched off, the locking switch will automatically return to its
original position (Fig. A).
Assembly - general comments
Note: Ensure the unit is switched off and the battery before fitting blades
and accessories.
Note: Change blades with gloves to protect against injury.
Note: Do not wipe grease from the gearbox when replacing blades.
Removal of trimmer blades:
• Turn the device upside down.
• Press the button on the bottom of the unit and remove the cover (Fig
B).
• Lift the trimmer blade upwards to remove it. (Fig. C)
Assembly takes place in reverse order (Fig. D, E). The blades should
make a "click" sound when placed in position.
Caution: Never use the device with the cover removed!
The installation and removal of the hedge trimmer and rake is carried out
in the same way.
Trimming the grass
• Remove all branches, stones, rubbish and weeds from the area
before trimming.

• Grip the device with a firm grip. The plane of the blades should be
parallel to the ground.
• Watch out for obstacles such as branches or railings.
• Trim in small pieces. Do not overload the tool. Slow or intermittent
operation of the machine indicates that the tool is overloaded.
• Do not trim wet grass.
• For longer grass, cut in small sections until the required height is
reached.
Hedge trimming
Caution: Do not allow the operating shears to come into contact with hard
parts such as metal fence sections. This risks chipping the blades and
injuring the operator.
Caution: Do not allow working shears to come into contact with the ground.
Note: Maintain a stable position when working. Work with the ladder while
following the safety rules.
Note: Wear safety goggles when working.
• Grip the shears with a firm grip.
• Start the tool and move it in both directions, parallel to the cutting
plane.
• Trim at a moderate speed. The tool should cover a distance of
approximately 1 m in 3 - 4 seconds.
Soil loosening
Rake with moderate force. Take care not to overload the machine. Wear
safety goggles to protect against sand and dust.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

• The appliance should be cleaned with a dry cloth, or a damp, firmly
squeezed one.
• Do not use petrol, alcohol or chemicals to clean the appliance. This
may damage the appliance.
• Lubricate the blades with low-viscosity oil/lubricant before starting
work and every hour during operation.
• When finished, clean the blades with a wire brush, wipe with a dry
cloth and lubricate.
• Do not immerse blades in water. There is a risk of corrosion.
• Dirt and corrosion increase friction in the mechanism and reduce
battery life.
