changing accessories or storing the power tool. Such preventative
safety measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power
tool.
• Keep unused power tools out of the reach of children and do not
allow anyone unfamiliar with the power tool or this manual to operate
it. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or
jamming of moving parts, damage to parts and other conditions that
may affect the performance of the power tool. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting
tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier
to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories, bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work
to be done. Using the power tool for activities not intended may
cause a dangerous situation.
• Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean and free of oil and
grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow safe
handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Servicing
• Have the power tool repaired by a qualified repair person using only
identical spare parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power
tool is maintained.
SPECIFIC SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR GRASS CUTTERS
• Never allow children, persons of limited physical or mental ability or
persons lacking experience and knowledge or who have not read
the instructions on the use of the machine. Local regulations may
restrict the age of the operator.
• Never operate the machine when there are people around,
especially children or animals.
• When working, do not tilt and keep in a stable position for balance
at all times. Do not stand on slopes or run.
• Do not touch dangerous moving parts before the machine has been
disconnected from the power supply and all dangerous moving parts
have come to a complete stop.
• Always wear sturdy footwear and long trousers when working.
• The device must be disconnected from the power source:
- every time the user walks away from the machine,
- before the obstruction is removed,
- before checking, cleaning or operating the machine
- after hitting a foreign object to visually inspect the machine
for damage,
- if the machine starts to vibrate excessively, for an
immediate check.
• Never operate the machine with defective guards or shields or
without safety devices, or if the cable is damaged or worn.
• Never connect a damaged cable to the power supply or touch a
damaged cable before it has been disconnected from the power
supply, as damaged cables can lead to contact with live parts.
• Only connect the machine to a circuit protected by a residual current
device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA (applies
to mains-powered equipment)
• Avoid using the machine in bad weather conditions, especially when
there is a risk of lightning.
• Warning. Despite the use of intrinsically safe design solutions, the
use
of
technical
protective
complementary protective measures, there are always residual risks
associated with the use of the equipment.
SPECIFIC SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR HEDGE TRIMMERS
• Keep all body parts away from the blade. Do not remove the material
to be cut or hold the cutting material while the blades are moving.
The blades continue to move after the switch is turned off. A
moment's inattention while operating the hedge trimmer can cause
serious injury.
• Carry the hedge trimmer by holding it by the handle with the blade
stopped and being careful not to press any power switch. Carrying
the hedge trimmer correctly will reduce the risk of accidental starting
and blade injury.
• Always wear a blade guard when transporting or storing the hedge
trimmer. Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce the risk of
injury from contact with the blades.
• When removing jammed material or servicing the unit, ensure that
all power switches are off and the power cord is unplugged.
Unexpected activation of the hedge trimmer while removing jammed
material or servicing can cause serious injury.
measures
and
the
adopted
• Hold the hedge trimmer by its insulated gripping surfaces only, as
the blade may touch hidden wires or your own cable. Blades coming
into contact with a live wire can make exposed metal parts of the
hedge trimmer live and may electrocute the operator.
• Keep all power cables away from the cutting area. Power cords or
cables may be hidden in hedges or bushes and could be accidentally
cut by the blade.
• Do not use hedge trimmers in bad weather conditions, especially
when there is a risk of being struck by lightning. This reduces the
risk of being struck.
Li-Ion batteries can leak, catch fire or explode if they are heated to
high temperatures or short-circuited. Do not store them in the car
during hot and sunny days. Do not open the battery pack. Li-Ion
batteries contain electronic devices and can cause the battery to
catch fire or explode.
