• Hold the workpiece (W) firmly, keeping fingers away
from the sanding belt.
• Keep the end pressed firmly against the work sup-
port (X) moving work evenly across the sanding belt.
Note: Use extra caution when sanding very thin pieces
and when sanding extra long pieces, remove the work
support (X). Apply only enough pressure to allow the
sanding belt to remove the material.
Sanding curved pieces, see fig. 18
Warning: Never attempt to sand the end pieces of a
workpiece on the idler drum (R). Applying the end of
the workpiece on the idler drum could cause the work-
piece (W) to fly up. Failure to heed this warning could
result in serious personal injury.
Always sand inside curves on the idler drum as shown
in Figure 18.
• Hold the workpiece firmly, keeping fingers away
from the sanding belt.
• Keep the curve pressed firmly against the idler drum
moving work evenly across the sanding belt.
Note: Use extra caution when sanding very thin pieces
and apply only enough pressure to allow the sanding
belt to remove the material.

Always sand outside curves using the sanding disc
and moving the workpiece (W) from the left side of
center as shown in Figure 19
• Hold the workpiece firmly, keeping fingers away
from the sanding disc.
• Keep the curve pressed firmly against the sand-
ing disc moving work evenly on the left side of the
sanding disc.
Warning: Applying the workpiece to the right side of
the sanding disc could cause the workpiece kickback.
Failure to heed this warning could result in serious per-
sonal injury.
11. Cleaning and maintenance
Important.
Warning! Prior to any adjustment, maintenance or ser-
vice work disconnect the mains power plug!
General maintenance measures
Wipe chips and dust off the machine from time to time
using a cloth. In order to extend the service life of the
tool, oil the rotary parts once monthly. Do not oil the
motor.

When cleaning the plastic do not use corrosive product.
General maintenance
After using your belt/disc sander, clean it completely
and lubricate all sliding and moving parts. Apply a light
coat of automotive type paste wax to the worktable to
help keep the surfaces clean.
Retighten and change belt (Fig. 20)
Tool required:
• Phillips screwdriver (not included in the scope of
delivery)
Retighten belt
1.
First remove the belt cover (5a) by loosening the
screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
2.
Loosen the three fastening screws with a Phillips
screwdriver.
3.
Then adjust the belt tension using the hexagon
socket screw. This relaxes or tensions the belt.
4.
If the V-belt gives more than 6 mm (thumb pres-
sure), you must retighten it again.
5.
Tighten the fastening screws firmly.
6.
Insert the belt cover (5a) again and firmly tighten it.
Change belt
1.
First remove the belt cover (5a) by loosening the
screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
2.
Loosen the three fastening screws with a Phillips
screwdriver.
3.
Then loosen the belt tension using the hexagon
socket screw. Now put on the new belt.
4.
Now check the belt tension (thumb pressure). If
the V-belt gives more than 6 mm (thumb pressure),
you must retighten it again.
5.
Tighten the fastening screws firmly.
6.
Insert the belt cover (5a) again and firmly tighten it.
Cleaning
Dust can collect in the belt and disc grinder. Check
regularly (preferably after every use) and remove dust,
e. g. by blowing away or carefully with compressed air.

parts are therefore also required for use as consum-
ables.
Wear parts*: Carbon brushes, grinding medium, belt
