Adjusting the hand chain
1.
Before lifting a load with the chain hoist, you
should familiarise yourself with the function of your
chain hoist "without load".

The chain hoist is supplied
with a hand chain whose
length is proportional to the
stroke of the chain hoist.
When installed normally, it
fulfils the condition of the cor-
rect setting of the chain end.
In cases where the length of
the hand chain does not meet
the prescribed conditions,
it is necessary to shorten or
lengthen the chain.
m
Any changes to the de-
vice must only be carried out
by a specialist workshop.

2.
Braking system control
Brake tests are to be carried out as follows:
• Attach a load.
• Lift the load.
• Lift and lower loads at different heights.
• Test whether the load can be held in every
position.
8. Assembly and operation
1.
It is important to ensure that the chain hoist is se-
curely attached. Be very critical when choosing
the mounting location; it must be chosen so that it
can withstand double the load. If you are not sure
whether the selected position is the correct one,
please select other positions.
2.
The chain hoist must be attached in such a way
that it cannot change its position during use.
3.
The snap lock on the fastening hook and on the
load hook must always be closed during operation.
4.
The maximum height of the slinging point must not
exceed 3.5 m.
Lifting loads (Fig. 5)
On the front of the chain hoist, there is an embossed
arrow labelled "U". Pull the hand chain (2) on this side
of the chain hoist to lift the load. (Fig. 5/B)
Lowering loads (Fig. 5)
On the front of the chain hoist, there is an embossed
arrow labelled "D". Pull the hand chain (2) on this side
of the chain hoist to lower the load. (Fig. 5/A)
m
Attention
When lowering the load, the brake of the chain hoist
may heat up dangerously in exceptional cases (con-
tinuous and rapid lowering). In these cases, it is nec-
essary to lower the load slowly and with interruptions.
9.
Cleaning and maintenance
• To ensure that the chain hoist lasts as long as pos-
sible, regularly remove dirt from it, carefully grease
the parts after use and store it in a dry place.
• Do not make any technical changes or repairs to
your chain hoist yourself; this must be done by a
specialist.
• The chain hoist must be regularly checked for dam-
age.
• The proper functioning of the chain hoist must be
checked on a regular basis.
