9.5 Overpressure safety device
OVERPRESSURE SAFETY DEVICE WITHOUT EFFECT
Highly viscous and polluted media can render the overpressure safety device
ineffective.
• Do not use highly viscous or polluted media if you have installed an overpres-
sure safety device.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury or
equipment damage.
 If, for operational reasons, the range must be smaller than the maximum
operating pressure, install an upstream overpressure safety device to
help protect the product from damage.
In the case of a pressure surge, the overpressure safety device closes imme-
diately, in the case of a slow pressure increase, it closes gradually. There-
fore, the closing pressure to be set depends on the values along the progres-
sion.
