2.2.1
Operation in hazardous areas
The products RF... EX and KP... EX are suitable for operation in hazard-
ous areas of zones 1, 2 under the following conditions, and for dust in
zones 21 and 22. They bear the marking:
- EX II 2 G Ex h IIC T6 ... T1 Gb or
- EX II 2 D Ex h IIIC T85°C ... T450°C Db
• Intended use as per EN 837-1/EN 837-3
• No hot media with temperatures of more than 80 °C in the pressure
gauge
- Take into account the compression heat that is generated in the case
of pressure changes of gases.
• Compression heat can increase the temperature of gaseous media.
• The maximum surface temperature must not exceed 80 °C
- In the case of products with filling, the temperature relates to the tem-
perature at the surface of the product (maximum 0.1 Hz for pressure
range up to 400 bar; in the case of liquid media up to 1000 bar).
- In the case of products without filling, the temperature relates to the
surface of the measuring system (maximum 0.1 Hz for pressure range
up to maximum 60 bar).
• The pressure gauge is neither subjected to pressure surges nor to pres-
sure fluctuations
Ambient conditions
The ambient conditions must be such that no combustible dust is pro-
duced.
The product must be earthed via the process connection.
2.3
Predictable incorrect application
The product must never be used in the following cases and for the following
purposes:
•
Measurement of pressure exceeding the full scale value of the product
•
Operation outside of the specified temperature range
•
Use as a part of a safety system to protect against exceeding permissible
limit values (equipment parts with a safety-related function)
