ALPINE EAGLE XL CHRONO
Crown in position 1 –
crown unscrewed for movement
winding
Your watch runs normally when the crown
is in position 1.
Crown in position 2 –
fast date adjustment
To adjust the date, pull the crown out to
position 2 and turn until the required num-
ber is displayed. Then push the crown
back in to position 1.
Crown in position 3 –
setting the time
To adjust the time, pull the crown out to
position 3 and turn until the required num-
ber is displayed. Then push the crown
back in to position 1. Since the date
change occurs at midnight, be careful to
distinguish midnight from midday.
ALPINE EAGLE FLYING TOURBILLON
Your wrist movements are the key factor in
winding your watch. When fully wound, it
has a power reserve of 65 hours.
Crown in Position 1 –
normal runningand manual winding
Your watch runs normally when the crown
is in position 1. If the watch has stopped,
wind it by hand before wearing it by mak-
ing about fifty clockwise rotations of the
crown. This is equivalent to a power
reserve of approximately 35 hours. A
"slipping spring" friction system placed
inside the barrel avoids any excess ten-
sion in the spring and the locking of the
winding mechanism when the power
reser ve has reached its ma ximum
position.
Crown in Position 2 –
setting the time
To set the time, pull the crown out to posi-
tion 2. Doing this stops the tourbillon
carriage that bears the second hand. Pull
the crown out when the second hand is at
midday to set the exact time. Then turn the
crown to the desired time and push the
crown back to position 1. The second,
minute and hour hands will restar t
immediately.
FUNCTIONS
Stop seconds
A stop seconds function has been incor-
porated into Chopard movements thanks
to ingenious research that enables the
watch to be adjusted with to-the-second
precision. The seconds hand stops when
the crown is pulled out to set the time,
and starts again as soon as the crown is
pushed back in to position 1.
Chronograph models have the
following functions:
Chronograph function
The chronograph hand is used to read
off the seconds against the graduations
marked around the circumference of the
dial. The chronograph is operated by
two pushers:
Upper pusher [K]: start/stop
Lower pusher [L]: resets the chrono-
graph hand and the hours and minutes
counters to zero.
ALPINE EAGLE
Flyback function
The flyback function makes it possible to
instantaneously record consecutive time
lapses when the chronograph is already
in use. To do this, simply press the reset
pusher [L]. Note that you do not need
to stop the hands first using the initial
pusher [K].
Tachymeter
To measure your average speed over one
kilometre, take a landmark, such as a mile-
stone or distance marker, and start the
chronograph by pressing pusher [K]. Stop
the chronograph by pressing pusher [K]
again when you pass the next milestone or
marker. You can then read off the chrono-
graph hand against the tachymeter scale
[J] on the dial.
