CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Movement
The movement of your watch deserves
particular care. In order to guarantee its
performance, it must be serviced regularly
by an official Chopard retailer.
Water resistance
A so-called "water-resistant" watch is built
to withstand daily use in everyday situa-
tions (showers, baths, swimming pools,
sea bathing, etc.). However, the gaskets
that make the watch water-resistant dete-
riorate when they come in contact with
cosmetic products (perfume, nail varnish,
etc.), chlorine in swimming pools, perspi-
ration, sunlight, temperature changes and
weather! To protect the movement in your
watch, we recommend that you check
its water-resistance every year or before
each period of intensive use in an aquatic
environment. However, watches with an
additional pressure resistance indication
(e.g. 3.5 bars or 30/50 metres) are NOT
intended for scuba diving! A "diving" watch
must comply with ISO 6425 in order to be
used in this situation.
Condensation
When the temperature changes suddenly,
slight condensation may appear under the
glass. This usually disappears of its own
accord, without affecting the watch's per-
formance. If the condensation persists,
please contact an official Chopard retailer.
Rinsing
The metal (gold and/or steel) straps are
specially adapted for use in aquatic envi-
ronments. Rinse your watch frequently in
fresh soapy water, especially if you use it
in salt water.
CERTIFICATIONS
Chronometer certification
"Chronometer-certified" means that the
movement of a watch is adjusted to within
a tolerance of between -4 /+6 seconds
per 24 hours, corresponding to 99.99%
precision. This supreme guarantee of reli-
ability and precision is issued by the Swiss
Official Chronometer Testing Institute
(COSC), an independent organisation cer-
tified by the Swiss Accreditation Service
(SAS). Mechanical movements must sat-
isfy a range of extremely stringent criteria
to earn this much sought-after distinc-
tion. Each movement is individually tested
over a period of fifteen consecutive days
and nights, in five different positions and
at three different temperatures. For any
further information, kindly consult the fol-
lowing website: www.cosc.ch

Poinçon de Genève
quality hallmark
Representing the coat-of-arms of the city
of Geneva, the Poinçon de Genève quality
hallmark is one of the oldest horological
certifications. This set of regulations
issued in 1886 testifies to Geneva's grand
watchmaking tradition and to the exper-
tise patiently acquired over generations. A
reliable token of quality, this prestigious
hallmark testifies to exceptional workman-
ship and stems from an authentic
philosophy that tolerates no compromises
on the quality of the movement compo-
nents and of the watch as a whole. The
Poinçon de Genève is a highly demanding
certification that guarantees the origin,
craftsmanship, quality and exceptional
expertise of mechanical watches that are
assembled, adjusted and controlled in the
Canton of Geneva. It is governed by rigor-
ous criteria encompassing technical
aspects and functional characteristics as
well as the overall aesthetic of a given
model. These criteria include extremely
precise specifications relating to all move-
