PREFACE
With the Alpine Eagle timepiece, Chopard
scales new heights in watchmaking,
revealing pure and harmonious lines com-
bined with the finest materials. Inspired
by the eagle's superior power, this unique
timepiece was entirely conceived and
designed by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele,
co-President of Chopard, following his
son's desire to relaunch a sporty-chic
watch model. His intention was to reinter-
pret one of the House's previous models
– the St. Moritz – designed by Karl-Friedrich
Scheufele himself. A revisited classic, but
one with its own identity: a link to the power
of nature and its elements. The result is a
distinctly modern watch that is at once
sophisticated, elegant and informal.
THE COLLECTION
Inspired by the highly symbolic eagle,
this timepiece's design, development
and choice of materials draw on the
beauty of nature and its creations. The
only flying animal able to face the sun
without being blinded, it spreads its
wings to climb ever higher into the sky.
The Alpine Eagle watch celebrates the
eagle both as a creation of nature and as an
allegorical force. Designed for contempo-
rary eagles, for men who – like this bird of
prey – raise their sights and see the bigger
picture, this timepiece is also inspired by
the wild environment around which the
bird soars. With unchanging landscapes
of breathtaking grandeur, ancient stones,
rocky peaks whose relief is sculpted by the
ages, and permanent snow, the Alps are
a world of limitless grandeur over which
the eagle reigns in harmony. Faced with
this contemplative scene, Mankind's only
response can be to seek to pursue this
beauty that nourishes growth and the reali-
sation of ambitions.
ALPINE EAGLE
The robust design of the Alpine Eagle's
case retains the accuracy and per-
formance of self-winding mechanical
movements developed entirely in-house
by Chopard's ateliers. The majority of
these movements COSC (Swiss Official
Chronometer Testing Institute) certified
chronometers, a certification to which
Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, always meticu-
lous in terms of watch making excellence,
is very committed.
