Storage and handling of the
recommended accessory tools
Grinding tools are to be treated with care and
transported carefully.
Grinding tools should be stored in such a
way that they are not exposed to mechanical
damage or environmental influences (e.g.
moisture).
Working procedures
NOTE
Grinding tools should only be used for the
u
recommended applications. Otherwise, they
can break, be damaged or cause injuries.
–
When using a Type A (cut-off) wheel
guard for facial grinding, the wheel guard
may interfere with the workpiece causing
poor control;
–
When using a Type B (grinding) wheel
guard for cutting-off operations with bond-
ed abrasive wheels, there is an increased
risk of exposure to emitted sparks and
particles, as well as exposure to wheel
fragments in the event of wheel burst;
–
When using a Type A (cut-off) and Type B
(grinding) wheel guard for cutting-off and
facial operations in concrete or masonry,
there is an increased risk of exposure
to dust and loss of control resulting in
kickback.
Grinding
Never use cutting discs for grinding!
Move the angle grinder with moderate
pressure back and forth over the workpiece.
For soft material, move the grinding disc at a
shallow angle over the workpiece; for hard
material at a slightly steeper angle.
Abrasive cutting
Never use grinding discs for cutting!
Use only tested fibre-reinforced cutting
or grinding discs that are approved for a
circumferential speed of not less than 80 m/s.

CAUTION!
The grinder continues running after being
u
turned off. Do not try to brake it by applying
lateral counterpressure.
Secure the workpiece! Use clamps/a vice
to hold the workpiece firmly in place. This is
much safer than simply holding it in your hand.
Always switch off the product
before putting it away and wait for
the product to come to a complete
standstill.
Release the ON/OFF switch
immediately in the event of a power
failure or when the plug is pulled out.
Move it into the OFF position. This prevents an
uncontrolled restart.
Use the product only for dry cutting
or grinding.
The additional handle
mounted on the product for all work.
Materials containing asbestos may
not be processed. Asbestos is a known
carcinogen.
m
DANGER! RISK OF INJURY!
ALWAYS GUIDE THE PRODUCT
u
THROUGH THE WORKPIECE IN
REVERSE ROTATION. In the opposite
direction there is a risk of a kickback. The
product can be pushed out of the cut.
Always switch the product on before
applying it to the workpiece. After
completing the task, lift the product from the
workpiece and then switch it off.
Always hold the product firmly with
two hands while working. Ensure that
your stance is secure and stable.
For an optimum grinding effect, move the
product evenly at an angle of 30° to 40°
(between grinding disc and workpiece) back-
wards and forwards.
