13. Warranty
The statutory warranty periods of 12 months from the date of purchase/invoice date of the commercial end customer apply to our
devices.
Raising a claim
If there is a warranty claim, we ask that the complete device, together with the invoice, be sent free of charge to our logistics centre in
Berka or to a service station authorised by us. Please contact your STORCH sales consultant beforehand.
Warranty claims
Claims only exist due to material or manufacturing defects and only when the device is used as intended. Wear parts are not covered
by the warranty. All claims shall become void in the event of installation of third party components, improper handling and storage, as
well as in the event of obvious disregard of the operating instructions.
Performing repairs
All repairs must be conducted on our premises or by an authorised STORCH service centre.
14. Disposal
Manufacturer information in accordance with Section 18, para. 4 ElektroG: The German Electrical and Electronics Equipment Law
(ElektroG) contains a variety of requirements for the handling of electrical and electronic equipment. The most important ones are
listed here.
1. Separate collection of waste equipment
Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is referred to as waste equipment. Owners of waste equipment must dispo-
se of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. In particular, waste equipment should not be disposed of with household waste, but
rather in special collection and return systems.
2. Batteries and lamps
Owners of waste equipment must normally separate old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the waste equipment, as
well as lamps that can be removed from the waste equipment without being destroyed, from the waste equipment before it is handed
over to a collection point. This does not apply if waste equipment is prepared for reuse with the involvement of a public waste disposal
authority.
3. Options for returning waste equipment
Owners of waste equipment from private households can hand it in free of charge at the collection points of the public waste disposal
authorities or at the collection points set up by manufacturers or distributors in accordance with the electrical and electronics equip-
ment law (ElektroG). Stores with a sales area of at least 400 m² for electrical and electronic equipment as well as those supermarkets
with a total sales area of at least 800 m² that offer and make electrical and electronic equipment available on the market several
times a year or permanently are subject to a return obligation. This also applies to distribution using means of remote communication
if the storage and shipping areas for electrical and electronic equipment are at least 400 m² or the total storage and shipping areas
are at least 800 m². Distributors must always ensure the return by means of suitable return options at a reasonable distance from the
respective end user. The possibility of returning waste equipment free of charge exists for distributors who are subject to a take-back
obligation, among other things, if a new, similar device that essentially fulfils the same functions is given to an end user.
If a new device is delivered to a private household, the same type of old device can also be handed over there for collection free of
charge; this applies in the case of distribution using means of remote communication for devices of categories 1, 2 or 4 in accordance
with § 2 para. 1 ElektroG, namely "heat exchangers", "monitor devices" or "large devices" (the latter with at least one external measu-
re greater than 50 cm). End-users are asked about their intention to return goods when concluding a purchase contract. In addition,
there is the option of free return to distributors' collection points, irrespective of the purchase of a new device, for waste equipment
that is not larger than 25 centimetres in any external measure, limited to three items of waste equipment per type of device.
4. Data Protection Notice
Old devices often contain sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information and telecommunications technology devices
such as computers and smartphones. Please note that in your own interest, each end user is responsible for deleting the data on the
old devices to be disposed of.
5. Meaning of the symbol "crossed-out bin"
The symbol of a crossed-out rubbish bin regularly shown on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the respective
device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
