Initial start-up
Before operating the device, you must
-
Insert both rechargeable batteries,
-
Put the shoulder strap on
Caution! Risk of injury! Do
not use the device without
the protective cover. Wear
appropriate clothing as well
as eye and hearing protec-
tion when working with this
device.
Prior to each use, ensure that
the machine is working cor-
rectly. The on/off switch and
the switch lock must not be
locked. After releasing the
switch, you must turn off the
motor. Do not use the device
if a switch is damaged.
Observe noise protection rules and
other local regulations.
Removing/inserting the
battery
1. To remove the battery (20) from the
device, press the release button (19)
on the battery and pull the battery (20)
out.
2. To insert the battery (20), push the bat-
tery (20) along the guide rail into the
device. You will hear it click into place.
Charging the battery
If warm, allow the battery to cool
before charging.
Charge the battery (20) when only
the red LED on the charge level in-
dicator (14) is illuminated.
1. If necessary, remove the battery (20)
from the device.
2. Slide the battery (20) into the charging
slot of the charger (21).
3. Plug the charger (21) into a socket.
4. Once charging is complete, disconnect
the charger (21) from the mains supply.
5. Remove the battery (20) from the
charger (21).
Putting the shoulder strap on
Always wear the shoulder
strap when working with the
device. Always turn the device off
before taking off the shoulder
strap. Accident hazard. The shoul-
der strap is equipped with a quick
release device so that the device
can be released quickly from the
shoulder strap in a dangerous situ-
ation.
1. Put the shoulder strap (22) on.
2. Adjust the length of the strap so that
the snap hook is approximately 10 cm
below your hip.
3. Attach the snap hook to the eyelet (12)
on the shaft tube of the device. Unhook
the device before starting the engine
and fasten it to the carrying harness
once the engine is running. Place the
body protection on your hip between
your body and the device.
Switching on and off
The device may only be used with
two batteries of the Parkside X 20 V
Team series.
Ensure your stance is stable and
hold the appliance tightly with both
hands and away from your body.
