ENERAL DESCRIPTION
For the non-intrinsically safe application, the jumpers must be as
follows: J4 = ON, J5 = OFF.
Note: The total detector current load on the conventional zone
must not exceed 2mA (typically 20 Aritech 700 Series
detectors).

(Non-intrinsically Safe)
19. (-), negative detector supply voltage connection
20. End-of-line (EOL) resistor
21. Yellow fault LED
Note:
1. The yellow LED indicates an open circuit fault on
the conventional loop.
2. IND +/- connection: An LED may be connected to
indicate a fire alarm condition in the conventional
zone.
3. The IU2055 is shipped as for non-intrinsically safe
applications, i.e. jumper J4 = ON and jumper J5 =
OFF.

ECHNICAL DATA
At communication loop terminals:
Maximum operating voltage ................. 17 VDC – 39 VDC
Maximum standby current ....................................< 15 mA
Maximum alarm current........................................< 35 mA
Fire alarm LED current (4.5mA max. excluded)
Conventional loop:
Loop voltage under normal conditions............... 14 VDC – 18.5 VDC
Maximum loop capacitance..................................................... < 1mF
Maximum line resistance......................................................< 100 W
End-of-line resistor ................................................3.9k W, 5%, ¼ W
Table 1. Conventional loop impedance/loads:
Short circuit
Vdet+- < 2.5 VDC
Fire
> 19.5 mA and
Vdet+- > 4.0 VDC
Fault
9.0 mA - 15.0 mA
Normal
3.36 mA - 7.0 mA
Open circuit
< 2.6 mA
Note:
1. Vdet +/- refers to the voltage between Det(+) and
Det(-).
2. Current and resistive loads are measured between Det(+)
and Det(-).
3. Resistive loads refer to the total conventional loop
resistance.
4. The "Normal" condition refers to the conventional loop's
standby condition. This includes all devices, line resistance
and end-of-line resistor.

Figure 2. Address dial setting
Setting the address:
To set the address use a screwdriver to adjust the two rotary
switches on the unit. Set the MS digit rotary switch (0-12) for the
10's digit. Set the LS digit rotary switch for the 0-9 digit.
