1. Safety Precautions This product complies with the requirements of the following European Community Directives: 2004/108/EC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) as amended by 2004/22/EC (CE-Marking). To ensure safe operation of the equipment and eliminate the danger of serious injury due to short- circuits (arcing), the following safety precautions must be observed.
2. Introduction This newly-developed material thickness meter is microprocessor controlled and operates with the ultrasonic principle. Thus, the device can measure the material thicknesses of the most sound waves conductive materials on the basis of the speed of sound, such as e.g. Metal, glass, plastic, ceramic and more.
5. Operating method 5.1 Before Measurement 5.1.1Selecting the transducer Plug the detector into the socket of the main unit, then short press the ON/OFF key to activate the unit and the character “d10” appears on LCD indicating 10mm 5MHz sensor is available for selection as shown in follow;long press on the ON/OFF key and the character “d6”...

5.1.3 Sound velocity adjustment Press VEL/DEL once to entre velocity adjustment with stored velocity unit blinking, press ▼▲ key to adjust the velocity to obtain desired value, then press ENTER/CAL to finish the adjustment. The revised velocity will be saved into the unit. 5.1.4 Calibration On normal status, press ENTER/CAL for 3 second, then CAL symbol shows in LCD with 5900 m/s velocity and 4.00 mm display.

5.2 Thickness Measurement Put few coupling agent on the area to be measured to couple the transducer with the hardware/ workpiece. LCD will display the thickness reading. During measurement, the coupling-symbol indicates a well coupling, if the icon flashed or not shows means a poor coupling, after remove transducer, the reading will hold without the coupling-symbol.

5.3 Velocity Measurement Read out velocity with a given thickness of material: Obtain the thickness of material by using a vernier caliper / micrometer. Then couple the transducer with that sample material until a thickness is displayed, press ▼▲ to adjust the reading so it matches the thickness measured by caliper/micrometer.
5.5 Data record 1.) Saving an measurement During measurement, press ENTER/CAL once to save the thickness reading, if a FUL symbol show in the LCD that indicates the memory is full and you have to delete a stored value first. 2.) Recall a stored measurement Press ALARM/RECALL for 3 seconds to enter data record mode, press ▼▲...
3.) Clear Memory Press VEL/DEL for 3 second to clear all stored data, CLR symbol will be shown on the LCD- screen. If you are already in the memory recall mode, you can use the VEL/DEL-keys to delete a single value.

6. Please note 1) Remove dust, dirt, rust or other contaminants which may adversely affect the measurement result before measuring. 2.) A too rough surface could disturb a measurement, so that an error is displayed. Grind / polish the surface at the point being measured to make a measurement. If no measurement is possible, this may be due to the surface properties, the material or a weak point in the material, which is not visible from the outside.
