Before connecting the drive
Be sure to read operating instructions and operating precautions attaching the personal computer unit.
e Turn off the power switch for the personal computer unit and unplug the power cord from the power socket.
(Absolutely do not connect the drive while the power is on.)
e Do not place the unit where it will be susceptible to vibration or impact or where the surface is tilted.
e Mounting screw holes are located in eight places on the right and left panels of the drive, and in four places
on the bottom panel. When securing the drive to a personal computer or other device, secure the drive firmly
in place with four mounting screws (included) in four places on the right and left panels or in four places on
the bottom panel.
eInsert the connection cables firmly.
ebe sure to observe all operating environment restrictions as noted "Specifications" on page 36.
