Terminator Setting
(Factory Default: ON)
À terminator refers to a terminating resistance. The
terminators must be set properly when SCSI units (in-
cluding the drive) have been connected to the person-
al computer.
E When the drive is connected at the terminating
end:
(for example, illustration EI E © or © on page 20)
Be sure to set "ON". E]
m When
the
drive
is connected
between
SCSI
units:
(for example, illustration El @-® on page 20)
Be sure to set "OFF".
SCSI ID Setting EI
(Factory Default: 4)
The SCSI ID is a number identifying each SCSI unit.
These IDs must be unique for each unit on the SCSI
bus.
Generally, the SCSI IDs are set as follows:
Hard Disk Drive: 0
eCD-ROM Drive: 3
eSCSI Host Adapter: 7
Check the SCSI ID (refer to devices instruction manu-
al) for each device connected on the SCSI bus.
Set the PD/CD-ROM drive's ID so as not to duplicate
any other device's ID.
LUN Setting
(Factory Default: OFF)
The LUN
(Logical Unit Number)
is a function that
causes
the personal
computer
to differentiate
be-
tween PO cartridges, CDs and CD-ROMs.
When the unit is connected to an IBM PC/AT or com-
patible computer, set the factory default "OFF".
