Settings / drill bit change / clamping the workpiece
Setting the speed
NOTE:
Always disconnect the machine from the power supply before changing the V-belt position.
In terms of speed, please take note of the following rule: The larger the drill bit diameter
and the harder the metal, the lower the speed! Note the drill bit manufacturer's details!
Recommended speeds in dependence of the material and the drill bit diameter are given in the
following speed table. Please note that this table provides only approximate guide values. Pay at-
tention to the power range of your machine.

Plastic
Aluminium
Brass
Cast iron
Mild steel
High carbon steel
Stainless steel
For information on speeds for other materials not listed in the table above, please refer to the cor-
responding material tables.
Setting the drilling depth
The drilling depth and the drilling table should always be adjusted to prevent drilling into the drill-
ing table.

The speed can then be adjusted within the speed range
(350 – 2500 min
NOTE:
Only adjust the speed when the machine is running.
Check that the machine is idling (no contact of the drill bit
with the workpiece).
The set speed is shown on the speed display (3).

Recommended speeds for a 10 mm HSS drill bit
•
To set the drilling depth, lower the drill bit slightly onto
the drilling table.
•
The drilling depth is displayed on the scale ring (2).
Turn the scale ring (2) clockwise until the "0" has reached
•
the indicator (3).
Then turn the scale ring (2) counterclockwise until the
•
desired drilling depth matches the indicator (3).
Lock the setting by turning the locking ring (1) counter-
•
clockwise.
To change the set drilling depth, turn the locking ring (1)
•
clockwise.
NOTE:
The drill depth setting is a useful aid when the same
drilling depth is required for several holes.
