Controls
Remote Display
install the batteries in the handset.
Turn on your TV.
Set the VTR 1/VTR 2/TV select switch to TV.
Press the OPERATE and CORRECT buttons at the
same time.
"01 TV" appears in the display.
OPERATE
Point the handset towards the front of your TV,
then press and hold down the Volume (A or V)}
button.
CLOCK
If the volume of the sound from your TV changes,
CORRECT
your TV can be controlled by this handset. Press
the CLOCK button to clear the "01 TV" in the
display.
The buttons on the handset shown on the
TRACKING
next page will now control your TV.
if your TV does not change volume, follow the
VTR
next procedure.

Press the TRACKING button A.
"02 TV" appears in the display.
The TV code number is counted down every time
the TRACKING button W is pressed.

Point the handset towards the front of your TV, then press and hold down
the Volume (A or V } button.
if the volume of the sound from your TV does not still change, press the
TRACKING

¥ button and try "03 TV", "04 TV" ....... "1aTV".

After programming the TV code number, press the CLOCK button to return
to the normal remote display.

NOTICE:
While this Hitachi handset is compatible with many television sets, it is
possible that the handset will not work with your TV set.

If your TV does not respond to any of the above steps, the handset cannot

operate your TV.
OPERATE Button
+ Press to turn on your TV.
* Press again to turn off your TV.
Number Buttons 0 ~ 9

Depending on the type of
TV, whether these buttons
can control the TV or not.
Mute Button
+ Press the Mute button to
quickly reduce the volume to
the minimum Sevel without
affecting the picture.
* To restore the sound, press
the Mute button again.
TV PROG 4/¥ Buttons
Press TV PROG (& or ¥) to change
the TV programme
number.
Volume /\/\/ Buttons
* Press Volume /\ to increase
the volume.
* Press Volume V to decrease
the votume.
The handset has a memory which enables it to operate some Hitachi TVs and some TVs from other
manufacturers.
