Preparations
« Connect the playback VTR (this VTR) to the
record VTR and TV. See above diagram.
* Turn on the TV.
Be sure that the TV is set to the video
programme number or video input mode.
+ Prepare the record VTR as follows.

Run tape to the point where editing is to start.

Search for programme 1's start point.
* Play the tape and search for the start of
programme 1. (Jog/shuttle makes the search
for the exact start point easy.)

When the start point appears, press the cs]
button,

".--:- -" flashes on and off to indicate that the
VTR is waiting for the setting of programme 1's
finish point.
Search for the end of programme 1.
* Using the same procedures as in step 2, search
for the exact end of programme 1, then press
the (¢) button.
* Use the jog/shuttle for easier searching of end
point. (It is difficult to perform accurate editing
by using the [) button and then © or @.
* The finish point of programme 1 is now
programmed.
Press the (<} button.
"—- ---" is now flashing on and off to indicate
that the VTR is waiting for the setting of
programme 2's start point.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for setting programmes 2 to
6.
After you have set all the required programmes,
check the programmed contents. Then press the
(2) button repeatedly until 'PLAY' «- START is
displayed under programme 6.
+ if up to 6 programmes have been set, the
"PLAY' <— START will be displayed
automatically.
* To partially correct contents, see page 53.
+ If the contents are correct, perform the
operation in step 6.

Press the record button at the point where editing
on the record VTR is to start.
* The record VTR automatically enters the record
pause mode.
* Check once more to make sure that all
preparations for recording on the record VTR
are complete.
