@ TURNTABLE
Connect the output cables of the turntable to the PHONO
jacks, and connect the ground wire to the GND terminal.
This should produce minimum hum, but in some cases
better results are obtained with this wire disconnected.
@ COMPACT DISC PLAYER
Connect the output jacks of the compact disc player to the
CD jacks.
@ TUNER
Connect the output jacks of the tuner to the TUNER jacks.
@ VIDEO DISC PLAYER
Connect the video output jack from a video disc player to
the VDP jack.
Connect the audio output jacks from a video disc player to
the VDP jacks.
@ TAPE DECK 1/VIDEO CASSETTE
RECORDER
Connect the cable from a cassette deck or video cassette
recorder, to the TAPE 1/VCR jacks. The playback (LINE
OUT) jacks go to the TAPE PB jacks, and the record (LINE
IN) jacks go to the REC OUT jacks.
Connect the video jack of a video cassette recorder to the
VCR jacks. The playback (VIDEO OUT) jack of the VCR
goes to the TAPE PB jack, and the record (VIDEO IN) jack
goes to the REC OUT jack.
@ TAPE DECK 2
Connect another audio tape unit to TAPE 2 jacks.
The playback (LINE OUT) jacks of the tape unit go to the
TAPE PB jacks, and the record (LINE IN) jacks go to the
REC OUT jacks.
@ MONITOR TV
Connect the video jack from a monitor to the MONITOR
OUT jack. Note that the audio connections to the monitor
are not necessary as the audio portion of the signal is sent
to your speakers through the amplifier.
@ OTHER VIDEO/AUDIO SOURCES
If necessary, connect a second video/audio input source
to the TAPE 1/VCR INPUT jacks on the front of the unit.
Note that when a component is connected to front panel
TAPE 1/VCR jacks, turn off the component connected to
the rear panel TAPE 1/VCR jacks.
_&@ OTHER AUDIO COMPONENTS
To connect a graphic equalizer, sound processor, etc.,
remove the pins from the ACCESSORY jacks as shown
below.
Connect the input jacks of the audio component to the
RECEIVE jacks and output jacks to the SEND jacks with
correct right and left polarities.

@ FRONT PANEL
@ POWER switch and indicator
Press this switch to turn the power on. The power indicator
lights. Press the switch again to turn the power off.
@ TAPE MONITOR button and indicator
Press this button to listen to the tape sound selected with
TAPE selector. When this button is pressed, the indicator
lights. The setting of this button has a priority over the
INPUT selector setting. To listen to the program source
selected with the INPUT selectors, be sure to press this
button so that the indicator goes off.
® INPUT selectors and indicators
Used to select the audio or video source to be heard.
@ VOLUME control
This control is used to raise or lower the output volume
level. It acts as a master volume control, increasing or
decreasing the signal level to both front and rear speaker
pairs.
@ REC OUT selectors
Use these selectors to select thé tape copy mode or tape
deck to be used for recording.
© When the VDP INPUT selector is pressed, the VDP
video signal is output at rear panel TAPE 1/VCR jacks
regardless of the REC OUT selector setting.
@ BALANCE control
Use this control to concurrently change the left and right
output volume to the speaker terminals.
® For some program sources, turning this control
sometimes changes the sound level between right and
left rear speakers.
