The microphone mixing function of this unit allows to
talk or sing along with the source sound (broadcast,
MListening
through
headphones
tape, CD, analog disc).
1 Insert the headphone plug into the PHONES
jack.
Set the MIC MIXING control to the SOURCE
position.

2 Insert the microphone plug into the MIC jack.

When
an additional pair of speakers is connected to
the
SURROUND
SPEAKER
terminals
on
the
rear
panel, the surround sound effect will be obtained from
the 4-speaker configuration. (Refer to page 27.)
Sound from the source is heard at a normal volume level even
if the MIC MIXING knob is turned fully clockwise to MIC.
If it is necessary to output the microphone sound alone,
select an input to which no component is connected, or stop
the playback of the selected source component.
Press the SURROUND
key to ON.

Notes:
1. The volume from the surround speakers may be small depending
on the type of music source. The surround effect cannot be
obtained from monaural sources.
2. Be sure to set the MIC MIXING knob to the SOURCE position
when the microphone mixing function is not being used.
3. It is not possible to record microphone-mixed sound.
