LOCATION OF FAULTS
If faults occur in your space heater, the list below can be used to
locate the problem.
Normally the faults are relatively easy to correct. The common
faults are listed below. The numbers indicate the possible cause as
listed under the heading "Correction of faults".
The sequence of these numbers relates to the likelihood of the
cause of the fault.
·
Important: Disconnect the mains during maintenance or
mechanical adjustment.
Fault:
Space heater does not start.
Heater stops burning. Light in reset-button
burns.
Black smoke formation at nose.
Leakage of flame at blowing side.
Too much fuel is used.
Space heater cannot be switched off.
Automatic after-cooling system does not work.
Automatic after-cooling system does not stop.
CORRECTION OF FAULTS
Cause
1. Air in fuel system when starting.
2. No electric supply.
3. No cap on thermostat connection.
4. Thermostat setting incorrect.
5. Fault in the burner relay.
6. Fan blows irregularly or is blocked.
7. Fuel pump is blocked.
8. Fuel tank is empty.
9. Oil filter is blocked.
10. Nozzle is blocked or worn.
11. Electrodes wrongly adjusted or insulation
shows cracks.
12. Air inlet of the burner head is wrongly
adjusted.
13. Magnetic valve does not open.
14. Pump pressure incorrect.
15. Pump coupling defect.
16. Air leak in suction line or main filter.
17. Magnetic valve does not close.
18. Protection grille for fan air intake is dirty.
19. Air bubbles in the fuel.
20. Fresh air supply not sufficient.
21. Photo-cell defect.
22. Combustion chamber is filthy.
23. After-cooling device does not work.
24. After-cooling device does not stop.
25. Overheating thermostat switched off or defect.

Solution
Press reset- button on instrument panel. Repeat starting procedure, if
necessary.(see manual for venting fuel system).
Place the cap.(Bridge circuit plug).
Adjust setting.
Replace the burner relay.
Check the motor.
Replace the fuel pump.
Fill the tank.
Clean or replace the filter.
Replace the nozzle (use the correct type!).
Make adjustments as per the instructions on
page 14 or replace the electrodes.
Adjust the air inlet with the aid of a CO
meter and a soot pump (CO
10-12%, soot figure 0-1 Bacharach).

Check the magnetic valve for operation. When switching on and off, a
"click" should be heard. Clean or replace the magnetic valve.
Check air pressure switch.
Adjust the pump pressure to the indicated pressure with the aid of a
manometer.
Replace the pump coupling.
Check and replace if necessary.
Remove the fuel line from the filter, through which the flame is
extinguished.
Clean or replace the magnetic valve.
Clean the protection grille.
Let the heater burn for at least 3 minutes to purge all air from the
system. Check the pipes for air leaks, tighten or renew joint if necessary.
Check combustion air fan/air hose.
Clean or replace photo-cell.
Clean the combustion chamber.
Let the fan run and remove the fuel line from the filter, through which
the flame is extinguished.
Replace after-cooling thermostat.
Remove plug from wall socket.
Replace after-cooling thermostat.
Trace cause, reset or, if necessary, replace thermostat.
