CUTTING WIDTH
THE CUTTING WIDTH CAN BE
ADJUSTED FOR VARIOUS FABRIC TYPES.
See pages 33-34 regarding adjustments.
@ Your machine can sew a 3 thread coverlock 6 mm/1/4
in. wide at the maximum,
or a stitch of 9mm/3/8 in.
wide, which
is the distance from the chainstitch
to
the edge of the fabric.
Sew on a scrap of fabric to check the result.
(The cutting width is narrower than the stitch width.
Move the blade to the right by turning the cutting
width dial upward.
@ The cutting width is wider than the stitch width.
In this
case,
the
fabric
might
be
rolled.
Move
the
blade to the left by turning the cutting width control
dial downward.
(4) Extra Heavy Fabrics
For sewing
an extra heavy fabric, it is advisable to
lock the moving
blade. Lower the needle bar to the
lowest position and open the side door. Tighten the
screw with the allen screwdriver to lock the moving
blade. After sewing extra heavy fabrics, always loosen
this screw
slightly to unlock
the blade
for normal
operation.
N.B.
When the moving blade is locked, the cutting width
cannot be adjusted.
