THREAD TENSIONS
DEPENDING ON THE TYPES OF THREADS,
THE TENSIONS MAY HAVE TO BE ADJUSTED.
By turning the fine tuning dial "UP" or "DOWN"
the tension will
increase or decrease.
The "N"
position on the fine tuning dial stands for standard tension
settings.
If tension is fine tuned on one program and the program is changed
to another, the tension will automatically be set for the new program.
(Thus cancelling any fine tuning made on the previous program.)
Note: If after fine tuning the tension dials, and you want to switch to
another program and find it difficult to turn the program selector, place
all the tension dials at "N" position then select a new program.

@ —@® The needle threads lie on the top side of the fabric (just like a row of normal
straight stitches) on the upper looper thread, and just visible in the lower looper
thread on the underside of the fabric.
©The upper looper thread lies flat on the top side of the fabric and locks with the
lower looper thread on the edge of the fabric.
@ The lower looper thread lies flat on the underside of the fabric and locks with the
upper looper thread on the edge of the fabric.
@it the left thread (a) is too loose and clearly visible on the underside of the fabric,
increase the left needle thread tension and/or decrease either or both looper thread
tensions.
3) If the right needle thread (b) is too loose and clearly visible on the underside of the
fabric, increase the right needle thread tension.
@lt the upper looper thread (c) is loose and pulled over to the underside of the fabric,
increase the upper looper tension and/or decrease the lower looper tension.
® If the lower looper thread (d) is loose and pulled up onto the top side of the fabric,
increase the lower looper tension and/or decrease the upper looper tension.
N.B.
If the thread tensions are too tight, the fabric will pucker.
TENSION DU FIL
LE REGLAGE DES TENSIONS PEUT NECESSITER UN REGLAGE
EN FONCTION
DU TYPE DE FIL.
En tournant la molette de tension réglage fin en haut ou en bas, la
tension diminue ou augmente. La position "N" de la molette réglage
fin est la position standard.
Si, pour un programme,
la tension fine est ajustée(s) et que le pro-
gramme est changé, les tensions seront positionnées automatiquement
pour le nouveau programme
(ainsi Ia tension fine du programme
précédent est annulées).
Note: Si, aprés avoir ajusté les tensions, le selecteur de programme est
difficile 4 tourner, placer d'abord toutes les molettes de tension en
position "N" avant de sélectionner un nouveau programme.

Les fils des aiguilles sont couchés 4a I'endroit du tissu {comme
une série de
points droits) sur le fil du boucleur supérieur et juste visibles dans le fil du boucleur
inférieur 4 l'envers du tissu.

s'entrelace au bord du tissu avec le fil du boucleur inférieur.

@si le fil de l'aiguille gauche
(a) est trop lache et bien visible a l'envers du tissu,
augmenter la tension du fil de l'aiguille gauche et/ou diminuer la tension du fil d'un

(b) est lache et nettement
visible
a l'envers
du tissu,
augmenter la tension du fil de l'aiguille droite.
@si le fil du boucleur supérieur {c) est lache et tiré sur l'envers du tissu, augmenter la
tension du fil du boucleur supérieur et/ou diminuer la tension du fil du boucleur inférieur.
®si le fil du boucleur inférieur (d) est lache et tiré sur |'endroit du tissu, augmenter la
tension du fil du boucleur inférieur et/ou diminuer la tension du fil du boucleur supérieur.
N.B.
Le tissu froncera si les tensions des fils sont trop fortes.
