S.L. & DIFFF
Depending on the types of fabrics, the S.L.
may require adjustment.
See pages 29-30 regarding adjustments.
The range of stitch length adjustment is from 0.5 to 4.
Lower it for sheer fabric, and raise it for a thick fabric.
When sewing a chainstitch, set it at 2.5 or higher.
Depending on the types of fabrics, the DIFF.
may require adjustment.
@) See pages 29-30 regarding adjustments.
Your machine is equipped with 2 feed dogs, (b) and
{c), each of which moves independently. However,
when the differential feed control slide {a) is set
at 1.0, both feed dogs move together at the same
ratio.
@ By sliding the differential feed control slide (a)
down to a higher number, the front feed dog {b)
moves the fabric faster, as shown.
This helps to
prevent materials such as knitted or stretch fabrics
from waving during sewing.
@
By sliding the differential feed control slide (a) up
to a lower number, the front feed dog (b) moves
the fabric more slowly, as shown.
This helps to
prevent sheer and light-weight fabrics from pucker-
ing.
Before starting to sew, make a test on a scrap of
your fabric.
