2. Mounting Instructions
. The probe has a magnetically attachable feeler so the feeler mounting base must be a
magnetic substance such as iron.
. If the feeler mounting base happens to be a non-magnetic substance or if the spindle is to
be fixed to the machine, use coupling DZ-191 which is optionally available.
. Use of a nominal 2.5 spring washer is recommended to prevent loosening of the feeler.
However, the spring washer does not need to be used for flat feelers.
. Mount the probe firmly by chucking the stem and sleeve where marked by slant lines in
Fig. 1.
. Since the head is built in adjacent the name label portion, avoid chucking that portion and
its neighborhood.
. Since mounting parallelism affects the measuring accuracy, adjust the parallelism to within
0.2 mm/0.01" or less over a 100 mm/3.94" displacement, using the mounting bracket.
. Fix the cable in a suitable position to prevent possible cable breakage. Never handle the
cable by forcibly pulling or bending it. (Inside bend radius 40 mm or more)
. DG155BPM/DG155BPE/DG205BPM/DG205BPE are not provided with measuring
force. Use magnetic feeler (accessory) or optional coupling DZ-191 for securing the
spindle onto the machine.
. A holder of dimensions as shown in Fig. 2 may be used to mount the probe,
tightening the screw to a torque of about 6 N. . . . . m.

Use M5 hexagon socket head cap screw.
