ELECTRIC VOLTAGE!
The electrical connection may only be made by an electrician. Local regulations
and VDE 0100 must be taken into consideration when doing so. The heat
exchanger must be permanently connected to permanently installed cables
with a protective earth conductor.
CAUTION!
The electric heat exchanger must be protected by at least two safety switches.
The following combinations are on offer ex works
– with a control thermostat
– with a control thermostat and a safety temperature limiter (STL)
– with a control thermostat, an STL and a flow switch.
– with a contactor up to 12 kW.
If no contactor is installed at the factory, an external contactor is required to
switch the heating rod (e.g. Behncke control system for EWT 80-xx)
NOTE!
It must be ensured that the electric heat exchanger can only be switched on
when the flow is ensured.
The electrical connections are to be made according to the circuit diagram.
For safety reasons, a ground fault circuit interrupter (30 mA) must be integrated
into the power supply. All metal parts must be included in potential equalisation.
CAUTION!
Risk of death due to electric voltage!
Disconnect the electrical system from the power supply before connecting the
strands of the connecting cable.
Brown/black = connections for the reed contact
The reed contact is integrated in a plastic sleeve with protective insulation
(protection class II).
CAUTION!
Risk of death due to electric voltage!
The max. electrical contact load specified on the type plate must not be
exceeded under any circumstances, as the reed contact integrated into the
switching unit will be damaged otherwise. The switching capacity is reduced
for inductive loads. Information on the protective circuit can be obtained from
the manufacturer.
