Information for installers

The Carmen and Figaro Balanced Flue or Natural Draught is a gas stove designed to run on either
natural gas or LPG. The burner units are not interchangeable between the two types of gas.
The stove is a radiant convector coal/wood effect stove with a Balanced Flue or Natural Draught
system. The appliance can be placed directly inside any fi replace opening of the dimensions
noted within the installation instructions, providing that it is on a suitable outside wall.
Important Notes
a) These instructions have been compiled in accordance with EN 613 1995.
Ensure that the stove corresponds with the type of gas to be used. This can be confi rmed by
checking the data badge located on the front face of the appliance.
b) It is required by law that any appliance using natural or LPG gas is installed by a competent
person (e.g. CORGI registered), in conjunction with the these instructions and the requirements
as laid down in the following Regulations and British Standards:
- The Gas safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1994 amended 1996.
- The Building Regulations (issued by the department of the Environment)
- The Building Standards (Scotland) (Consolidation) Regulations.
c) In the Republic of Ireland, the appliance must be installed in accordance with the Irish Stan-
dard-813 regulations in force, and must also be installed by a competent gas installer.
APPLIANCE TO BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE TO NATIONAL AND LOCAL REGULA-
TIONS.
All surfaces except the control knob are considered working surfaces.
FIREGUARD WARNING
THE WINDOW AND FRAME ON THIS APPLIANCE ACTS AS A FIREGUARD CONFORMING
TO BS:1945 - 1971 AND SATISFIES THE HEATING APPLIANCE (FIREGUARDS) REGULA-
TIONS 1991.
NO PART OF THE WINDOW OR FRAME SHOULD BE PERMANENTLY REMOVED. IT DOES
NOT GIVE FULL PROTECTION FOR YOUNG CHILDREN OR THE INFIRM

Siting the appliance

The appliance must be sited next to an adjacent exterior wall (if used as Balanced Flue).
The gas supply connection to the appliance is at the rear right hand side. The connection requires
8 mm or 12 mm diameter semi-rigid pipe, not more than 1 metre in length.
The appliance can be installed in any adequate area suitable for solid fuel fi res and stoves.
