5.2 Tool change (Fig. 4 – 5)
Warning: Disconnect the power plug.
You will need the enclosed face spanner (14) for
the tool change.
Press and hold the spindle lock (8). (See Fig.
4)
Twist the still attached tool until it locks in
place.
Open the flange nut (a) with the face spanner
(14) and remove it. (See Fig. 5)
Remove the tool and insert a different one
instead.
Fit the flange nut and tighten it back up again.
Note: On tools that have a mounting up to a
thickness of approx. 5 mm, the fl ange nut must be
screwed on with the fl at side facing the tool. Refer
also to Fig. 5.
Warning: Only press the spindle lock when both
the motor and spindle are at a standstill. The
spindle lock must remain pressed throughout the
tool change.
Note: Wear gloves to protect yourself against
injury.
5.3 Attaching the abrasive paper (Fig. 6)
The hook-and-loop fastener enables easy chan-
ging of the abrasive paper. Make sure that the
vacuum extraction holes on the abrasive paper
and the sanding disk are aligned.
5.4 Changing the brush units (Fig. 7 / item 11)
You can remove the brush units of the steel brush
(11) in order to change them or for cleaning pur-
poses.
To do this, remove the fixing ring (a). This is
fastened on the back with retaining lugs.
Now you can remove the brush unit (b) by:
1. pushing it to the middle and
2. lifting it up and away at the front edge.
To assemble, proceed in the reverse order.
Note: Wear gloves to protect yourself against
injury.

5.5 Adjusting the additional handle (Fig. 8 /
item 4)
You can turn the additional handle (4) into the
most comfortable position for you.
Undo the two fastening screws for the additio-
nal handle (5).
Adjust the additional handle (4).
Re-tighten the two fastening screws for the
additional handle (5).
6. Operation
6.1 On/Off switch (Fig. 9 / item 1)
Switching on:
Press the release/locking button (2) and the On/
Off switch (1) at the same time.
Locking:
Release the On/Off switch (1) while pressing the
release/locking button (2).
Switching off :
Press the On/Off switch (1) briefl y and then re-
lease it.
Restart safeguard
If the mains power supply is interrupted when the
switch is locked in the On position, the electric
tool will not run after the power supply is restored.
For the equipment to run, the switch must fi rst be
turned off and then on again.
Constant electronics
This tool is equipped with constant electronics.
With constant electronics, the set speed is kept
constant even when the tool is working under
load.
6.2 Speed controller (Fig. 9/ item 3)
You can select the speed by turning the speed
controller (3).
Plus direction:
Higher speed
Minus direction:
Lower speed
6.3 Working close to edges
(Fig. 10-11 / item 6)
To work close to edges, loosen the screw (a) and
remove the side part (6) as shown in Fig. 10.
Now you can run the tool straight along the edge
of a wall. (See Fig. 11)
